IKEA – Rapid Roll Speed Door Installation

Elmwood Protection Services recently completed the installation of a high-performance Rapid Roll Speed Door at IKEA. This upgrade was designed to streamline the process of returning shopping trolleys into the building during operational hours, significantly improving efficiency and staff convenience.

IKEA required a faster and more efficient solution for daytime trolley returns. The existing perimeter roller shutter, while effective for overnight security, was too slow for frequent daytime use—taking approximately 30 seconds to open and close each time. This delay was impacting staff productivity and operational flow.

Elmwood Protection Services proposed the installation of a Rapid Roll Speed Door to work in tandem with the existing shutter. The new door would remain in use during the day, while the original shutter would continue to provide security at night.

Speed: The Rapid Roll Speed Door opens in approximately 3 seconds, drastically reducing wait times.

Integration: The new door was installed behind the existing shutter, allowing seamless operation without compromising security.

Convenience: Staff can now return trolleys quickly and efficiently, improving workflow and reducing congestion at the entry point.
